In June, we went to the Siloam Springs rodeo and Caleb had his first go at mutton bustin'! For those of you who aren't familiar with that, it is when the little kids ride a sheep and try to stay on as long as they can. (Kinda like riding a bull, but a lot fluffier). :) Caleb was so excited to do it and he was so brave. Once he got on the sheep in the chute, he got a look of fear on his face, so Nick stepped in the chute for moral support. The ride was short and not so sweet, but we are so proud of our little cowboy! He got dirt all over his face and there were tears involved. He doesn't have any plans to ride another sheep in the near future. We'll see if he's recovered enough to do it again next year.
A few weeks ago, there was a PBR bull riding event in Springdale - Buckin' in the Ozarks. We decided to make a special night of it with Caleb. We dropped Caitlyn off with our sis-in-law (Thanks Robyn!) and spent some time just focused on Caleb. I think it was good for all of us. He's been super great as a big brother and we wanted to give him some undivided attention. We went to Freddy's for dinner and headed to the rodeo grounds soon after.
The bull riding didn't start til 8:00, so it was super late when it was over. We picked Caitlyn up and headed home. It was a fun evening!!
